FRESH-WATER LENSES AND PRACTICAL LIMITATIONS OF THEIR THREE-DIMENSIONAL SIMULATION
Numerical 3D model solving density-dependent groundwater flow and mass transport problems by the finite element method is applied for island supply water. After a presentation of hydrogeological parameters, a comparison is made between measured and computed salinity. Steady-state simulation with tidal-wave impacts is compared with transient modeling. A groundwater management is proposed with various wells and galleries.
