NERENBERG R. / RITTMANN B. E. / SOUCIE W. J. - ARTICLE DE PERIODIQUE - 2000
Powdered activated carbon, chlorine oxidation and potassium permanganate oxidation being largely ineffective in the removal of some tastes and odors in the treatment of drinking water. The use of ozonation followed by biofiltration can provide well suited and effective treatment combination in the removal of musty/earthy types tastes and odors caused by 2-methylisoborneol (MIB) and trans-1,10-dimethyl-trans-9-decatol (geosmin).
