WATER QUALITY OF SURFACE RUNOFF FROM GRAZED FESCUE GRASSLAND WATERSHEDS IN ALBERTA

Changes in the quality of surface runoff water from small foothills under three levels of grazing (ungraed, heavy grazing = 2.4 animal unit months per hectare (AUMha) and very heavy grazing (4.8 AUMha) - Significant variations of volumes and total carbon level over the 1998-2000 period - But not impacts of grazing intensity on the nitrate and phosphorus levels in water.
