Essai de contamination d'Ostrea edulis Linne par Bonamia ostreae (Pichot et al., 1979) en riviere de Crach (Morbinhan).
In March 1982, an experimental contamination with Bonamia ostreae was created in the Crach River (Morbihan). Flat oysters were coming from a wild oyster bed in La Rochelle, a histological control has shown they were free from parasites. These oysters were found to be infected after 4 to 5 months. The parasite propagation seems to occur all the year. At the beginning of the disease, infestation rates are low. Percentages increase progressively and reach 25 to 30% after 4 months and 50% and more after 6 or 8 months for the oysters immersed from March to June 1982.
